Sudanese presidential aide Jalal Yousef el Digeir said on Thursday his country and Egypt are facing common challenges and they have to work together to confront them.
Egypt and Sudan should work for overcoming any hurdle that might block hoped-for progress in ties between the two countries, he said.
He called for accelerating the implementation of bilateral agreements that have been signed by the Egyptian and Sudanese governments.
The Sudanese official made his comments after his meeting with Egyptian ambassador in Khartoum Osama Shaltout.
The ambassador stressed that Sudanese are not being targeted in Egypt and that there is no mistreatment or abuse they are being subjected to.
He added that he asked the Sudanese authorities to give a list with the names of the Sudanese who were mistreated in Egypt.
The ambassador stressed that such cases are separate incidents that would not harm Egyptian-Sudanese relations.
The meeting tackled ways to boost ties and cooperation between Egypt and Sudan in all fields.
