The Sudanese Foreign Ministry on Thursday summoned the Libyan charge d’affaires in Khartoum to inform him of Sudan's dismay over statements by a Libyan army official that Sudan backs extremists in Libya.
Sudan’s Foreign Ministry undersecretary Abdalla al-Azraq said that his country takes neutral stances on all warring sides in Libya, pointing out that Sudan is ready to mediate between the clashing parties.
The Libyan diplomat, for his part, expressed regret over the negative statements against Sudan, asserting the Libyan government's keenness to bolster the bilateral relations.
