Assistant to the Sudanese President and Deputy Chairman of the ruling National Congress Party Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamid said that the prime minister in the national reconciliation government, to be announced early next year, will be from the party that owns the majority in the Parliament.
In press statements published Monday, Hamid said that the new amendments transformed the executive powers of the president to the prime minister, and thus he became in charge of the executive authorities, with the exception of security and defense.
He pointed out that the new phase, in which the national reconciliation government will take over the implementation of the National Dialogue outcomes, aims to achieve a smooth democratic transition through free and fair elections approved by the Sudanese people.
