President of the Republic of Sudan Omar Hassan Al Basheer praised Saturday the role of the State of Qatar in implementing the Doha Peace agreement in Darfur.
He said that Qatar understood the problem and worked patiently on offering solutions that helped regain peace and stability to the region. Al Basheer, who was speaking to Sudanese crowds in West Darfur State, expressed his appreciation to the role Qatar played to help regain peace in the region. He added that it was Qatar's efforts regionally and internationally that made peace in Darfur possible. Additionally, Qatar also established Darfur Development Bank to help finance massive projects in Darfur. He added that the projects financed by Qatar helped transform Darfur from asking for aid to a productive economy.
Al Basheer said that the Doha Document for peace helped the people of Darfur avoid the disasters of war and reach a historic achievement of establishing peace in the region. He highlighted that the Qatari support will not cease until the peace process in Darfur concludes.
