Suez was placed on high security alert on Friday to secure vital facilities and the southern entrance of the Suez Canal.
Suez Security Chief Maj. Gen. Magdy Abdel Aal said the Suez Canal's eastern and western areas were combed by policemen to foil any terrorist attack.
High security measures were also taken in Ain Sokhna and Mount Ataka to arrest outlaws and secure roads leading to Sinai, he added.
