
Supply Minister Khaled Hanafy left here on Wednesday heading for Erbil, the capital of Iraq's Kurdistan region, to open the Egyptian products and industries' fair that runs for 10 days as of Thursday.
Upon his arrival, Hanafy will discuss with Kurdish Industry and Trade Minister Samal Sardar and in the presence of the Egyptian consul and commercial counselor and members of the Egyptian Embassy there ways of boosting trade cooperation between Egypt and Iraqi Kurdistan Region.
As many as 60 Egyptian companies of carpets, textiles and garments, leather, natural oils, furniture, handicrafts, chemicals and other products as well as EgyptAir and Sono Cairo will partake in the fair, according to a statement released by the Supply Ministry.
The Egyptian minister will hold talks with Kurdish officials to probe ways of fostering bilateral economic and trade cooperation, the statement said.
During the visit, Hanafy is due to meet with Iraqi Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani.
