
The Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (SCIA) has congratulated HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister and the Kingdom of Bahrain's government and people on the 14th anniversary of the National Action Charter (NAC).
The Council, in its regular session chaired by its president, HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, praised the accomplishments in various spheres during the prosperous reign of His Majesty the King.
It lauded the massive participation in 2001 of Bahrainis in the voting on the Charter that served as a platform towards the nation building process and progress.
The Council said that the Charter was a milestone in the history of modern Bahrain, and praised its principles derived from genuine Islamic tenets, mainly co-existence, consensus, dialogue and boosting Islamic unity.
The Council congratulated HRH the Prime Minister and lawmakers on the endorsement of the 2015-2018 Government Action Plan, praising the robust cooperation between the government and parliament in endorsing the four-year national growth blueprint as one of the fruitions of the National Action Charter.
The Council at the meeting attended by Shaikh Abdul-Rahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, called for boosting unity and confronting the instigation of strife and sectarian divisions.
The meeting paid tribute to the late Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and expressed its trust in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to continue dialogue, cooperation and unity under the capable leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The SCIA referred to the repeated hostilities and provocative storming by Zionists of Al Aqsa Mosque backed by ultra-rightist Israeli military and politicians in breach of all values, conventions and norms.
It urged Arab and Islamic governments to end the silence in the aftermath of recurrent Israeli occupation breaches of holy shrines, and to support the brethren in Occupied Palestine.
The SCIA discussed the endorsement of reports from the committee that considered requests referred to the SCIA from the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council regarding three requests for the SCIA's opinion.
