Syria denies changing chief negotiator in peace talks

Syria on Wednesday denied media reports that the head of Syria's delegation to the upcoming round of the intra-Syrian negotiations in Geneva was changed.
In statements earlier in the day, Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad said that the delegation will be headed by Bashar Jaafari, Syria's permanent representative at the UN.
The Syrian government delegation will participate in the new round of inter-Syrian peace talks after parliamentary elections, Mekdad added.
