Head of the Syrian Opposition National Coalition Khaled Khoja said the coalition is ready to resume efforts to reach a political solution to the four-year crisis in Syria.
Khoja, in a press conference with British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, said the coalition is ready to resume political process provided that civilians are being protected.
"We cannot convince Syrians in the importance of the political process while they are being slaughtered everyday by the Assad forces," he said.
Hammond said Britain is keen on re-activating the political process in Syria and that extra meetings with the coalition will be held within the coming 10 days.
He underlined the importance that Syrian leader Bashar Assad would leave power, saying Britain believes that Assad has no role to play in Syria.
