Khaled Mahameed, a prominent Syrian opposition figure and member of the committee of Cairo conference for Syrian opposition, described Egypt's role in solving the Syrian crisis as "strategic".
In exclusive statements to MENA, Mahameed lauded Egypt's recent efforts to render the Riyadh conference a success.
The remarks came on back of the talks Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had held with a Syrian opposition delegation.
Mahameed also referred to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's assertion in Paris on the importance of preserving the Syrian State institutions and working on a gradual political transition based on the Geneva 1 conference on Syria.
