Advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader for International Affairs Ali Akbar Velayati stressed that the fact that the Syrian people and leadership have held their fast together in the face of the terrorists’ acts has enabled them to defeat the terrorist organizations.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Velayati said that the Israeli entity and the West are behind creating the terrorist organizations in Syria, including the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), with the aim to stir up a war against Syria and to take it out of the axis of the resistance, stressing Syria’s ability to remain steadfast and thwart the enemies’ schemes.
He reiterated Iran’s support to Syria and Iraq, which is also facing the threat of terrorist organizations and to the resistance in the face of terrorism and the Zionist entity, affirming the necessity of enhancing the resistance in the region.
Velayati asserted that the creation of ISIS was totally pre-planned by the West years ago, adding that the aim behind creating such terrorist organizations is to distort the image of Islam and to incite differences among Muslims and divert their attention away from fighting the enemies.
