Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb asserted Islam rejects all forms of corruption, prohibits terrorizing people and calls for entrenching peace and security.
Tayyeb was addressing a meeting with number of Christian and Muslim youth on Sunday at the end of the first international forum on the role of religions in building peace and combating extremism and terrorism.
He said Islam has no place in conflicts or in exercising military or cultural hegemony on nations.
A group of 40 young people representing 15 world countries participated in the forum, which is hosted by Al Azhar in cooperation with the World Council of Churches.
Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese will meet later with the youth.
