Tayyeb : Muslim Council of Elders enhances dialogue, tolerance culture

 Grand Imam of Al Azhar Sheikh Ahmed Al Tayyeb said Thursday the strategy of the Muslim Council of Elders, under his leadership, enhances dialogue and tolerance culture.

Receiving the council’s secretary-general, visiting UAE chief of the national education council in Abu Dhabi Ali al Nuaimi, Tayyeb asserted that all peace convoys to be dispatched by the council would work on implementing this strategy.

The strategy involves scientific bases and serious field steps to spread a true image of Islam, Tayyeb said.

For his part, Nuaimi appreciated the role played by Al Azhar in the face of terror and extremism.

He also briefed the grand imam on the outcome of the council’s executive office meeting that was held in Cairo earlier in the day.

Plans and projects of the council in the coming period were also high on the agenda of the meeting.
