Tayyeb underlines depth of relations between Azhar, Kuwait

Al Azhar Grand Imam Dr Ahmed el Tayyeb underlined the historic ties binding Al Azhar and Kuwait.

He also voiced appreciation of the humanitarian stances of the Kuwaiti emir and his efforts in supporting Arabs and preserving the nation's unity and stability. 

Tayyeb's remarks came during his meeting Monday with outgoing Kuwaiti Ambassador to Egypt Salem al Zamanan on the occasion of the end of his tour of duty in Cairo. 

Tayyeb, meanwhile, hailed the Kuwaiti ambassador's efforts during his tenure in Egypt. 

Zamanan, for his part, voiced Kuwait's appreciation of Al Azhar's pioneering role in clarifying the tolerant principles of Islam among the various countries and nations. 

He also hailed the outcome of Tayyeb's visit to Indonesia and Germany.
