Turkish General Staff stated on Thursday that fire was opened from the Syrian side of the border on a Turkish patrolling unit along the Asi River in southern Hatay province. No casualties was reported, while bullets did not hit the armored vehicle of the patrolling unit, added the General Staff. According to a statement released on the website of General Staff, a unit patrolling in Turkey's southern Hatay province, specifically on the riverbank of Asi, was targetted by 3 to 5 people from Syrian side who fired 15 to 20 gun shots at 1.10 p.m. on Thursday. The targeted patrolling unit immediately responded, and fired back to the shooters who ran away.
