Member of an armed terrorist group at midnight on Tuesday opened fire at Dr. Jihad Abdullah al-Sayyed in his clinic near his house in al-Atareb town, 35 km to the west of the northern province of Aleppo, causing his death. The Police sources in the province told SANA correspondent that Dr. al-Sayyed had received a phone call from someone who claimed to be a patient in a case of emergency. "After Dr. al-Sayyed saw the alleged patient, an armed man came into the clinic and tried to kidnap the doctor. A fight erupted between both sides. Then the gunman shot Dr. al-Sayyed in the heart and the belly with a Russian-made rifle," said the sources. They added that Dr. al-Sayyed, born in al-Atareb town in 1962, was taken to a hospital in al-Dana town in the neighboring Idleb province, where he died.
