Kuwait Society of Engineers was established with the aim of boosting industrial and urban boom in the country, streamlining the rules of practicing the engineering profession, raising its level, protecting the engineers' rights and promoting research. 1968 -- An Amiri decree approves Kuwait's membership in the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). 1968 -- Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah decrees law 44 of 1968 on publicly breakfasting during the day of Ramadan with a penalty that does not exceed KD 100 and an imprisonment for a period that does not exceed a month or with one of these above-mentioned penalties for anyone who publicly break his fast during the day of Ramadan. 1993 -- Some 600 Iraqis cross the Kuwaiti borders and shower UNIKOM personnel and Kuwaiti patrols with stones, injuring a Kuwaiti policeman. 1997 -- Kuwait and Angola sign a protocol at the UN headquarters on establishing diplomatic ties. 2000 -- The National Assembly discusses topics of interpellation of Minster of Electricity, Water and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Dr. Adel Al-Sebeeh regarding his decisions to raise price of government land plots, houses, hosuing installments and rents of public houses. 2000 -- Kuwait Finance House opens the Auto-trust company at the Free Trade Zone at Shuwaikh Port. The national company specializes in selling second-hand cars. 2007 -- Central Bank of Kuwait raises the exchange rate of Kuwaiti dinar against USD to become 278.5 fils compared to the previous price of 276.15 fils and with an increase by 0.07 percent in the highest hike since 19 years. 2007 -- Kuwait joins the World Federation of Neurology (WFN) with the approval of all member states during the WFN periodical meeting in Japan. 2008 -- Kuwaiti shooting team gets the gold medal in skeet shooting within the eighth Arab championship that was held in the Qatari capital of Doha.
