Tourism Minister Hesham Zaazou said he was making tour of Egyptian airports to fill any gaps and to encourage countries that had imposed a travel ban on Sharm el Sheikh to lift it in the coming period.
Addressing the conference “Major projects in Egypt” on Tuesday, the tourism minister said he will announce in the coming period a new entity participating in the assessment of Egyptian airports and steps taken by the government to secure the airports.
The tourism sector is incurring EGP 2.2 billion monthly in losses since the fall of the Russian flight over Sinai in late October, he said.
The situation will improve in two or three months but not to previous figures as it will need several months but, still, not years, he said.
