Giza Criminal Court under counselor Muataz Khafagi adjourned the trial of 42 members of Ajnad Misr terrorist group to February 15.
The postponement decision was made to hear the testimony of the eyewitnesses.
The case comprises two parts; the first involves 20 defendants, while the second involves 22 others who recently joined the trial sessions.
The defendants face charges of planting explosives in 20 separate incidents, causing the deaths of six police personnel, attempting to murder 100 citizens and officers and targeting public establishments and police checkpoints.
On its social media page, the group claimed responsibility for several bomb attacks against police officers, causing a number of deaths and serious injuries.
Late prosecutor general Hisham Barakat referred the defendants to the Criminal Court based on evidence of targeting security personnel in different districts nationwide.
