Transport minister opens first phase of water taxi

Transport Minister Saad el Gioushy and Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish witnessed on Tuesday the trial operation of the first phase of the water taxi.
The watercraft will sail from Maadi to Tahrir in Cairo.
Gioushy said the project will contribute to increasing the revenues of Egypt's river transportation.
He added that a plan was outlined to upgrade the transport sector in Egypt.
