Tunisian different political parties would reach an agreement over the naming of a new prime minister this week, according to the Tunisian Human Rights League (LTDH), one of the mediation quartet formed to resolve Tunisia's longstanding political crisis. LTDH President Abdessattar ben moussa said on Monday the quartet has been working towards consensus and many nominees have been agreed on. Ben Moussa said that the new prime minister has to be a neutral and independent figure with a strong personality being able to take necessary measures to withdraw all the appointments that took place under the previous government, which was based on political loyalties. Tunisian political parties started a national dialogue on October 25 with the mission of resolving the country's political crisis, while it was suspended on November 4 after different political adversaries failed to reach an agreement regarding next prime minister, who would lead the country's independent cabinet, complete the country's transitional period and organize the upcoming elections. Tunisian leftist opposition party, the Workers Party, announced Sunday that the national dialogue is destined to fail, while Ennahdha movement, Tunisia's ruling Islamist party, reiterated in a press statement released Sunday that the national dialogue is " the sole mechanism to solve the contention points and accomplish consensus in order to secure the transitional path and complete the constitutional tasks."
