Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi
Sharm el-Sheikh - MENA

Tunisian President Baji Caid Essebsi addressed the 26th Arab Summit in Egypt's Sharm el Sheikh resort city on Saturday
Delivering his speech, Essebsi called for boosting coordination among Arab states to combat terrorism.
The Tunisian president asserted that terrorist groups in the Arab region aim to undermine state power and spread chaos.
Speaking to the Arab delegates, Essebsi extended thanks to Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Arab League (AL) Secretary General Nabil el Araby for efforts exerted to promote joint Arab action.
He asserted that Tunisia is looking forward to fostering ties with Egypt, wishing the Egyptians more progress and development.
He also thanked Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al Ahmad al Jaber al Sabah for his efforts to serve the best interests of the Arabs during heading the previous session of the summit.
The Tunisian leader expressed his concern over the situation in Yemen, asserting his country support to the legitimacy of Yemeni President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi to protect its security, stability and the whole region's stability.
He urged all Yemeni parties to resume the dialogue to settle their political disputes away from foreign interference and according to the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) and the Gulf Initiative.
Turning to the Palestinian cause, Essebsi called for providing further Arab support and momentum to stop the Israeli settlement activities in the Palestinian territories and prevent its attempts to seize Palestinian lands, funds and change the identity of the East Jerusalem city.
He called on the international community to take its responsibility for the swift issuing of a resolution to resume the Middle East peace talks to end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.
As for Libya, he expressed deep concern over the situation in Libya, demonstrating his country's solidarity with Libya to preserve its sovereignty, independence and its territorial integrity.
He urged the Libyan government and all political parties to stick to dialogue to heal their rift and avoid dragging the North African country into more chaos and additional security and political unrest.
As regards the Syrian crisis, he stressed his country's support to international efforts aiming to settle the Syrian crisis peacefully.
