
Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi met on Monday with Prime Minister Habib Essid to follow up the developments in the terrorist attack that targeted a military barracks and national guards in Ben Gardane area close to the borders with Libya, a statement by the Tunisian Presidency said.
Talks tackled security measures to be taken to further secure border areas in the south to protect safety of citizens.
Army managed earlier in the day to thwart a terrorist attack targeting a military barracks and national guards in Ben Gardane area.
The attack was followed by armed clashes between security forces and terrorists that left 21 militants dead.
