The shooting which took place, Monday morning in the Tunisian Bushusha barracks, killed four including the shooter and wounded over 15, according to a provisional toll from a medical source in the Tunis military hospital.
No confirmation has been given so far regarding the terrorist nature of the incident. A Defence Ministry press conference is scheduled at midday, TAP news agency reported.
A serviceman had opened fire, Monday morning, on his colleagues inside the Bushusha military barracks in Bardo.
It wasn’t immediately clear what motivated the soldier. The incident hasn’t been deemed a terrorist attack at this point, TAP quoted Defense Ministry spokesman Belhassen Oueslat as saying.
The shooting at the Bouchoucha barracks was about a kilometre away from the National Bardo Museum where 22 people — mostly tourists — were killed in a terror attack on March 18.
Oueslati said the situation was under control by mid-morning.
