The final results of Tunisia's presidential run-off are likely to be announced next Monday, President of the Independent High Authority for the Elections (ISIE) Shafik Sarsar said here on Friday.
The final results of the elections are likely to be declared on Monday after the country's Administrative Court rejected two appeals against the initial results of the second round of the vote, Sarsar said in a press conference.
He expressed his sorrow that there is an "organized campaign" suspecting the results of elections, saying that "several international organizations hailed highly transparency and integrity of these elections." The ISIE said on Monday that leader of the Nidaa Tounes Party Beji Caid Essebsi won Tunisia's presidential elections.
Essebsi received 55.68 percent of the valid votes in the run-off held on Sunday, while outgoing president Moncef Marzouki got 44.32 percent.
This is the first free presidential race held in Tunisia since the Jasmine Revolution ousted Zine El-Abidine Ben Ali on 14 January 2011.
