Turkish FM remarks meddling in domestic affairs

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said remarks by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Egypt might seem positive but they must be viewed within their full context rather than focusing on just part of it.

During a press conference held jointly with his visiting Czech counterpart Lubomir Zaoralek Monday, Shoukry said the overall context of the remarks, which are totally rejected, reflects interference in Egyptian affairs.

Even the positive part of his remarks is useless, he said.

The relationship between Egypt and Turkey and their peoples solid, historic and positive as Cavusoglu said during a visit of Riyadh Sunday, Shoukry said.

Egypt also hopes to have normal ties with Turkey but Cavusoglu's remarks in general, that reflected interference in Egyptian affairs and defiance of the will of the Egyptian people, are "rejected remarks," he said.
