The UAE embassy in Beirut has launched the Emirati project in Lebanon to distribute meals and clothes, donated by several humanitarian and charitable organisations.
The organisations include the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity and Humanitarian Foundation, the Office of H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Emirates Red Crescent Authority and the Sharjah Charity International.
Under the directives of UAE Ambassador to Lebanon Hamad Sultan Al Shamsi, the project is being overseen by Mussalam Obiad Al Mansouri, Director of the Humanitarian and Developmental Attache Office at the embassy, with strategic partners from Lebanon, including the Relief and Humanitarian Aid Organisation (Dar Al-Fatwa), the Social Relief and Welfare Association in Sidon, and other civil society organisations.
Al Mansouri said the project, which will start tomorrow, will distribute Eid meals and clothes to over 50,940 beneficiaries, or 10,188 families.
He added that the distribution will cover all cities and villages of Lebanon to share the joy of Eid Al Adha with all citizens, especially children.
