UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with his counterparts Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore K. Shanmugam, Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Muliana Natalegawa, Foreign Minister of Panama Roberto Henriquez, and Myanmar Foreign Minister Wunna Maung Lwin, on the sidelines of the 67th United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York. During the meetings, they discussed ways of strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields in addition to exchanging views on a number of political and security issues of common interest which are on the agenda of the United Nations, particularly the issues relating to the Middle East, including the Syrian crisis. Sheikh Abdullah also stressed the need to immediately put an end to the violence and resolve this crisis by peaceful means in accordance with the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people. He briefed his Myanmarese counterpart on security developments and the situation of violence suffered by Muslims in the country, especially in Rohingya stressing that his government continues to address this problem on various dimensions.
