A squadron of UAE's Air Force F-16 warplanes, stationed in Jordan, launched a series of airstrikes against targets of the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant (ISIL), official media reported Tuesday.
The UAE General Command of the Armed Forces affirmed, in a statement, that its jet fighters had struck ISIL's targets and returned safely to their base, according to Emirate News Agency (WAM).
The UAE F-16 fighter jets were deployed in Jordan on February 8th in order to support US-led air strikes against ISIL in light of the ISIL's recent brutal execution of Jordanian pilot Moath Al-Kasasbeh by burning him alive after capturing him on December 24th in Syria.
