The office for martyrs' families affairs at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court has announced a joint initiative with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (GAIAE) to name a number of mosques after the martyrs of the nation.
The office indicated that it has completed an agreement with the GAIAE to name a number of mosques after the martyrs, selecting mosques that are near the residences of their families.
It also added that this will include martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice while performing their national duties inside and outside the homeland in the civil, military or humanitarian fields.
Dr. Mohammed Mattar Al Kaabi, chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments, said the initiative translates the valuable concept of martyrdom in Islam and was being taken in recognition of the sacrifices made by the martyrs.
The office also indicated that the initiative is in line with the efforts exerted by the office in cooperation with all government, private and popular institutions, as well as individuals to commemorate the anniversary of the martyrs.
