
The UAE is participating in the 33rd meeting of Arab Commission for the Unified Customs Tariff, which began today at the Arab League headquarters under the chairmanship of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the participant representatives of the Arab customs authorities.
The participating UAE delegation includes Tariq Abdullah Bourhima, Chairman of the Customs Affairs Department at the Federal Customs Authority, Nizar Faisal Al Meshal, Director of Economic Agreements at the Ministry of Economy, and others.
Abdullah Al Mughirah, legal advisor at the Saudi Customs, said that during the three day-event, the committee will discuss the proposal from Egypt regarding setting up of a mechanism for negotiations on the unification of customs duties as well as another item pertaining to the observations of the Arab States on the Arab unified customs tariff schedule.
The meeting also discussed other issues on the agenda.
