
UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative and head of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) Bernardino Léon conferred with Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammad Dayri and a number of Libyan lawmakers at Tobruk airbase on means of ending a political and security crisis in Tobruk and Tripoli cities.
The UN envoy arrived in Tobroq late Monday and was received by the Libyan foreign minister and Second Deputy of the Libyan speaker Hamid Houma.
The meeting brought together representatives of Libyan municipalities and local councils and included Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, as part of a “five track” UN-facilitated dialogue process aimed at bringing peace and stability to Libya.
