The US government said on Friday that it is ready to cooperate with Sudan in the field of combating terrorism and stemming the flow of extremist groups into the Arab country.
In a press statement, the US Embassy in Khartoum said it welcomes "Sudan’s removal from
the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) list of countries with strategic deficiencies in their legal
and regulatory framework for combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism."
During its plenary meeting on October 21-23, the FATF “congratulated Sudan for the significant progress made in addressing the strategic anti-money laundering/counter-terrorism financing deficiencies,” the embassy added.
