US Special Envoy for Libya Jonathan Winer said 28 states imposed sanctions against outgoing President of the Libyan General National Congress Nouri Abusahmain over violating the United Nations Security Council resolution and thus hampering UN efforts to settle the Libyan crisis and form a unity government.
Winer said on Twitter on Thursday that any financial transmission to the Libyan General National Congress poses danger to those involved in the process.
Winer did not name the 28 states.
The EU has named Abusahmain, speaker of Libya's internationally recognised parliament Aguila Saleh Issa and Premier of the National Salvation Government Khalifa Ghweil as hampering UN efforts to settle the Libyan crisis and form a unity government.
