Chairman of the executive committee and spokesman of the municipal council elections Jadee Al-Qahtani said using technology in municipalelections contributed to easing access to electoral information to candidates and voters.
The electric portal opened new doors in communicating with people and candidates, whether on official website of the municipality or in the Entikhab application on smartphones, saying text messages are among the most effective methods of communicating with voters.
Al-Qahtani pointed that the total number of visitors on the official website for municipal elections, www.intekhab.gov.sa, reached 1.2 million. The average volume of visits to the website increased during the past 20 days by 25 percent, in comparison with the past period, and the portal's indicator reached its highest levels since the start of the election campaign, with on average 12,000 visitors per day.
He said male visitors made up 85 percent of the total number of visitors, while women formed only 15 percent.
