Voters in Cairo started heading to balloting stations to cast their vote in the second and final day of the runoff of the second stage of parliamentary elections held under full judicial supervision and under the eyes of the civil society organizations and local and foreign observers.
Joint troops of the police and army were seen deployed around the election stations to secure the voting process.
Weak turnout was reported in the subcommittees of the districts of Sahel and Rowad el Farag in the early hours of voting.
The parliamentary elections are the third step of Egypt's future political road map plan.
The second stage of parliamentary elections covers the 13 governorates of Cairo, Qalioubiya, Daqahliya, Menoufiya, Gharbiya, Kafr el Sheikh, Sharqiya, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai and South Sinai.
Runoffs are held on December 1-2 for Egyptian at home, and on November 30 to December 1 for Egyptian expatriates.
Some 27.5 million voters are eligible to cast their vote in the second round compared to 25.5 million in the first stage.
