Yemen seizes weapons shipment

The Yemeni Ministry of Interior said Thursday it has seized a foreign cargo vessel while smuggling weapons into Yemen near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait off the Red Sea coasts. The Ministry said in a release that the shipt “Jihan 2″ was seized while it was smuggling weapons into a Yemeni fishing boat. The seizure of the weapons ship was jointly carried out by the Yemeni Naval, Coastal Defense and Coastal Guards and speedboats, the ministry added. The seized boat will be inspected at a nearby seaport and its crew will be investigated by security organs, it said.
