Yemen's army Chief of Staff Mohammed Ali Al-Maqdashi met on Friday with Commander of the Saudi Royal Land Forces Fahd bin Turki bin Abdulaziz in Marib, the Yemeni news agency reported.
Marib Governor Sultan Al Arada and a number of military commanders attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed the latest developments concerning a military operation that aims to liberate the Yemeni capital Sanaa.
Maqdashi hailed members of the Gulf Cooperation Council and an Arab coalition over their efforts to resort stability and security to Yemen.
The Saudi commander reiterated Saudi Arabia's support to Yemen in its current crisis until the legitimate government rules once again the country.
Yemen is engulfed in an armed conflict between Huthi militants, the country’s main opposition faction, and government forces.
