
The US-led coalition continued to strike Daesh targets in Syria and Iraq, with a total of 6 airstrikes between 8 a.m. on January 20, and 8 a.m. on January 21, local time, the Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in a statement released Saturday. In Syria, an airstrike was carried our near Ain Al-Arab (Kobane) where, "an airstrike destroyed two Daesh fighting positions." In Iraq, 5 airstrikes were carried near four areas: Al Asad, where "an airstrike destroyed six Daesh boats", Ar Rutbah, where "an airstrike destroyed an Daesh vehicle," Mosul, where "an airstrike destroyed an ISIL fighting position," and finally near Sinjar, where "two airstrikes struck an Daesh large tactical unit, an Daesh tactical unit and destroyed five Daesh buildings," CJTF-OIR said.
