The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the recent decision of the Israeli occupation authorities to confiscate 2,342 dunams (579 acres) of the Palestinian land in Jordan valley in the occupied West Bank.
"The seizure testifies to Israel’s adamant disregard of the International community and its continued settlement policies in the occupied Palestinian territories, in violation of all international conventions, laws and norms," the ministry said in a statement, carried by Bahrain News Agency, BNA, today.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that such illegal and unlawful Israeli practices will increase tension in the region, jeopardize regional and international efforts to resume peace talks and will undermine chances for any peaceful settlement, based on internationally recognized agreements.
"It urges the international community to assume their responsibilities to halt Israel’s settlement activities, provide protection for the brotherly Palestinian people and push for the implementation of all relevant international resolutions," the ministry added.
