Palestinian Minister of Public Works and Housing Mofeed al Hasayneh has urged Israeli occupation forces to resume importing construction materials to Gaza Strip.
He warned that prolonging the ban can lead to a humanitarian catastrophe as it threatens the construction process.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday in Gaza, he said that the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, along with the governmental committee formed by Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, is following up the cement file in Gaza Strip in line with the (GRAMMS) system.
Israeli occupation authorities decided, as of Sunday, to halt the import of cement to Gaza strip for all projects, except for those affiliated with the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) as well as Qatari projects, under the pretext that Hamas movement takes control of some construction materials.
