Israeli naval boats Tuesday attacked with gunfire Palestinian fishermen who were sailing offshore Gaza, while Israeli soldiers stationed on the borderline opened fire towards farmers when they attempted to reach their lands, located along the border.
Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) said the Israeli navy assaulted with machine gunfire three Palestinian fishing boats, causing damage to at least one of them, while sailing about six miles from the shore of Gaza.
No injuries were reported among fishermen who apparently fled the scene for fear of being detained, inured, or killed.
Earlier this day, Israeli military vehicles and bulldozers infiltrated through the border with Gaza from the eastern part of al-Bureij refugee camp, in the central Gaza Strip. The assaulting vehicles opened gunfire towards agricultural areas, without any injuries being reported.
Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers who were stationed at borderline watchtowers opened gunfire towards Palestinian farmers when they attempted to reach their agricultural lands, located along Gaza-Israel border. There were no reports of casualties, however.
Israeli navy targets Gaza fishermen almost on a daily basis, in a blatant breach of a ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and armed Palestinian groups in august 2014, following 51 days of bloody aggression on the Gaza Strip, which claimed the lives of over 2,200 Palestinians, mostly civilians.
