The Israeli authorities cancelled a weekly visit allowing elderly Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to travel to occupied East Jerusalem for Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, Israeli radio reported Thursday.
The radio quoted a Palestinian source as saying that Israel cancelled a previous agreement on the grounds that Palestinian worshipers who travel to perform Friday prayers,do not return to the strip on the same day of the visit as the agreement stipulated.
Israel previously allowed 200 Gazans above the age of 60 to travel to Al-Aqsa mosque to as part of a ceasefire agreement that ended the 2014 Gaza war.
