The Israeli security cabinet has approved a plan, which would see additional Palestinian workers inside Israel, Haaretz reported Monday.
This plan comes in the hope that it could hamper the progress of popular uprising in the West Bank and Al Quds.
Senior security sources told Haaretz on Sunday that a policy of reserving jobs for Palestinians in Israel has proven to restrain "terror" and to dissuade thousands of people from committing "violent acts".
The plan was presented to the Israeli ministers last month by Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon and Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, coordinator of government activity in the occupied territories.
Israeli official statements say around 58,000 Palestinians have permits to work in Israel while over 30,000 have no permits.
According to Haaretz, the 30,000 additional workers are expected to be employed in construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, services, agriculture and other areas.
Candidates will be required to pass a Shin Bet security service screening.
