Israeli police Tuesday morning detained at least a Palestinian following a suspected stabbing attack near Jabal al-Mukabbir neighborhood, southeast of Jerusalem.
Israeli online newspaper Times of Israel reported that two Israeli elderly women, in their 70s, were stabbed and injured in a suspected stabing attack at wooded area below Armon Hanatziv settlement in southern Jerusalem.
Both women were rushed to a local hospital in moderate condition after sustaining stab wounds in their upper bodies.
Police sources said they set up checkpoints in the area and pursued two Palestinians whom they claimed masked and fled the scene. At least one Palestinian was reportedly detained for being suspected for the alleged attack.
