Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Wednesday blamed Israel for hampering the Middle East peace talks.
He added that the Palestinian side could return to the negotiating table provided that Israel stops establishing more settlements and releasing the Palestinian inmates.
Solving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict would contribute to ending violence and extremism in the region, he asserted.
He made the remarks during a meeting of the Central Council of the Palestine Liberation Organization held in Ramallah city.
If Israel withdrew from the Palestinian territories, all Arab and Islamic countries would recognize it as it stated in the Arab Peace Initiative, according to Abbas.
The Palestinian president tackled the Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, considering the peaceful resistance is the best way to face the Israeli occupation.
Also, he renewed his rejection of acknowledgment of Israel as a Jewish state due to its breach of the Oslo Accord.
