After the killing of Ibrahim Mohammed Salem Baradeah, 54, by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in al-Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron on Thursday afternoon, clashes between the Palestinian youth and the IOF erupted in the camp.
According to local medical sources, five residents were injured by the IOF with rubber-coated steel bullets and received treatment by local medics, without the need for hospitalization. Dozens of others felt the effects of tear gas inhalation.
Baradiya was the first Palestinian to be killed by the IOF since the March 24 killing of Abd al-Fattah Yusri al-Sharif, 21, which sparked international outrage after footage was released showing an Israeli soldier shooting al-Sharif in the head while the young Palestinian was lying critically wounded on the ground after allegedly stabbing an Israeli soldier.
On Thursday evening, the IOF also invaded Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, kidnapped one Palestinian and assaulted another, causing various cuts and bruises.
According to Mohammad Awad, Coordinator of the Popular Committee against the Wall and Settlements in Hebron, Israeli soldiers stopped Khalil Odah al-‘Allami, 16, at a military roadblock near the main entrance of the town, before kidnapping him.
Awad added that the soldiers also stopped and searched many Palestinian cars, and assaulted Raed Ahmad ‘Aadi, 40, causing various cuts and bruises, before detained him.
According to locals, the Israeli soldiers later allowed the Red Crescent medics to move ‘Aadi to a Palestinian hospital in Hebron.
