
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the deadly attack on a post of UN peace keepers in city of Gao in north Mali resulting in the death of one peacekeeper on Tuesday.
In a press statement, OIC Secretary-General Iyad Ameen Madani expressed strong condemnation to the assault, which was claimed by Al-Qaeda in Arab Maghreb. He paid tribute to the soldiers of peace for their enormous sacrifices.
On Monday May 29, a similar attack targeted a convoy of UN peace keepers in the central Mopti region of Mali resulting in the death of five members of the Togolese contingent and the injuring of one other.
