Arsenal are ready to battle with Real Madrid for Argentine midfielder Lucas Biglia, according to The Sun. The £8 million-rated star has captained Anderlecht to a second straight Belgian league title and Real chief Jose Mourinho is a big admirer, it said. But Gunners boss Arsene Wenger also hopes to land the 26-year-old, who was once a target of Liverpool. Biglia joined Anderlecht from Independiente in 2006, and is now eager to move to a top European club. He said: “Real Madrid and Arsenal have both been in contact and I’ll wait to see what happens. “I am still under contract with Anderlecht until 2015, but they know that I plan to leave. “If a club offers the right price, Anderlecht will let me go.” Biglia also interests Napoli and Fiorentina.
