Benfica sent out a warning to FC Porto that they intend to remain top of the table as they hammered Vitoria Setubal 4-1. With the reigning chamions hot on their heels in the table and also winning tonight, 2-0 against Rio Ave, Benfica needed to produce the goods and did so. They fell behind to Neca's seventh-minute opener, put levelled in the 24th through Nolito. Oscar Cardozo then netted a quickfire double before the break, but he was later sent off after Nemanja Matic wrapped things up late on. Porto's routine win came thanks to goals either side of half-time from James Rodriguez, keeping them two points behind the leaders. The day's other game saw Feirense draw 0-0 with Gil Vicente. Both sides had a man sent off, with Feirense losing goalkeeper Paulo Lopes in the 63rd minute, and Gil Vicente's Pedro Moreira seeing red in injury time.
